Candidate check-in
Sit a SY0-701 style practice exam.
Performance tasks come first. They are firewall rules, matching boards, a prompt on each computer, a setting on each system, and logs you have to read. Then a random draw of multiple choice, including a few select-two items. A later sitting shuffles the pool, so question 12 is not the same item every time. The score page explains every item.
- Performance tasks
- 3 to 5 of 26 tasks, drawn at random. Firewall policy, consoles, device settings, and log reading.
- Question pool
- 246 original items. Each sitting uses only part of the pool, and the choices are shuffled.
- Points
- Each performance task is worth up to 50. Each multiple-choice item is worth 10, select-two included. The mix always totals 900 raw points.
- Scaled score
- 100 + (raw ÷ 900) × 800, on the 100–900 scale. 750 is a pass, which is the published Security+ cut.
- Time
- 90:00 if you sit it timed. Untimed keeps an elapsed clock and will not auto-submit.
StaticFire is an independent practice bench. It is not affiliated with CompTIA, and a score here is not a Security+ certification.
